Wellness Education • Coaching • Mindfulness Development

Welcome to, The MelloWest Space. My mission is to create a customized approach to health and wellness, pairing yoga with personal coaching to keep everyone’s goals in focus and dreams in motion. Through tailored techniques, I provide direction, support, feedback, and structure so you or staff may thrive in both personal life and profession. Along the way, we will learn and honor the important connection between mind and body, a modality that will stay with everyone whether on or off the mat. In the MelloWest way, we move with intent and zeal, pushing ourselves, our peers, and our communities towards success.

Wellness Facilitation for Whole-Person Healing

As a wellness facilitator, I offer an integrative approach to support both individuals and teams in feeling more connected, grounded, and unstuck. My work weaves together coaching, sound baths, yoga, and meditation to create space for restoration, clarity, and meaningful change.

With numerous certifications in coaching and yoga, along with years of experience in social justice and community healing, I bring a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens to every session. I honor that each person’s journey is unique, and draw from a range of modalities which include somatic practices, breathwork, mindfulness, sound healing, and more, to co-create a customized path toward every person’s wellbeing.

Whether you or your workforce are navigating burnout, transitions, grief, or growth, I can support in slowing down, tuning in, and moving forward with intention. This is your space to reconnect with yourself, your body, and what truly matters.

DeShauna West Anderson, MA

Based out of the Bay Area, California, DeShauna received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with additional coursework in Forensic Psychology. During this time, DeShauna also began working for a non-profit agency that contracts with Alameda County Social Services supporting foster youth with navigating self-sufficiency. After working in this field, she realized that the core of our problems and stress often correlate with symptoms in our bodies. Starting with self, she decided to challenge her mind, body and spiritual alignment by beginning an Ashtanga yoga practice. Also, she discovered life coaching, which quickly became an important tool in all her client-centered and leadership work. This allowed her connections with others to become more than just a mentorship, but a partnership in their goals.

DeShauna has also deepened her power vinyasa journey and has obtained several 300 hr yoga teacher training certifications. Her ultimate goal is to create a connection with individuals throughout their personal journey, with the hopes of helping to empower them to reach their desired destinations. DeShauna believes “Health is a state of body and wellness is a state of existence.”

DeShauna partners with many organizations to provide a hybrid of wellness services. A few of these agencies include Blooming Willow Coaching, Surge Institute (Oakland & Chicago), UC Berkeley, Bridges Rock Gym, San Francisco Women Against Rape, Brothers on the Rise and 9to5 (Atlanta).

When DeShauna isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, animals (she has a dog, cat, gecko, fishes) and different species of plants as well as geodes. DeShauna also enjoys traveling, and learning about the history of all the places she visits.
